Nigel Roberts is currently the World Bank's Director for the Pacific, based in Sydney and covering 11 Pacific countries. Between 2001 and 2006 he was the World Bank's Director for the West Bank and Gaza in Jerusalem. He has worked in international development for 30 years, living for about 20 of them in Thailand, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nepal and West Bank and Gaza. He has an MA in English Literature from Oxford and an MPhil in Agricultural Economics from Reading University. He has written extensively for the World Bank on security and development, local government and agricultural development.
