- - Dates: 2003 - 2007 Much of the field work is carried out by mixed groups of Israeli and Palestinian university students. A pilot project on the area of the 1948-67 border at Damascus Gate formed the first year's work. The current stage of work focuses on three more sites: the dense and contested religious topography along Al-wad street in the Old City, and Israeli settlements and Palestinian villages at the North and the South peripheries of the city, especially in the context of the separation wall and bypass roads. In assessing the situation, particular emphasis is put on urban conditions that disclose and promote the viability of the city for both Palestinians and Israelis.
