CONFLICT IN CITIES
Architecture and Urban Order in Divided Jerusalem
The dense and contested religious topography of the Old City is the focus of the project's investigations on the centre of Jerusalem. Microsites have been selected along the path of al-Wad Street, from Damascus Gate to Dung Gate. These include the Via Dolorosa and Takieh junctions, the Ribat Kurd complex and the 'small Western Wall' the Cotton Market and the entrance and plaza of the Western Wall. Studies have also been carried out on various Jewish and Islamic housing and cultural institutions as well as commercial areas.
